Sense of Belonging
If East Asian women in high school have opportunities to connect with mentors in the STEM space, which makes female representation more visible, then women in STEM spaces in East Asia will have a higher sense of belonging, so that they will take advantage of more career opportunities (promotion, job applications) in STEM.
Meaningful career exposure
If women in East Asia in K-16 have opportunities to connect with mentors in the STEM workplace and learn from their experiences, then these women will have meaningful career exposures, so that they develop an awareness of existing and potential STEM opportunities.
